Duduk or Duduki
The duduk is an Armenian tubular double reed that has been popularized in the West by Djivan Gasparyan. The duduk is often played with a second duduk called a dam which holds a drone. The duduk has become a popular instrument in the West commonly heard in pop music, as well as in music for films and other soundtracks. Related instruments are the Georgian dudki, the Turkish mey, the Iranian and Iraqi balaban, the Kurdish qarnata, and the Azerbaijani balamam, amongst others. The duduk travelled across the Silk Road to produce Asian versions, such as the Korean piri, the Chinese guanzi, and the Japanese hichiriki.
